KMCT Institute of Emerging Technology and Management, Kozhikode, hosted an outreach session organized by the GATE–JAM Office of the Indian Institute of Science (IISc), Bengaluru, aimed at creating awareness among students about the Graduate Aptitude Test in Engineering (GATE) and the Joint Admission Test for M.Sc. (JAM) examinations.
The Graduate Aptitude Test in Engineering (GATE) is one of India’s most prestigious national-level examinations, offering opportunities for admission to Master’s and Ph.D. programs at leading institutions such as the IISc and IITs. It also serves as a qualifying criterion for recruitment in several Public Sector Units (PSUs). Similarly, the JAM examination provides a pathway for B.Sc. students to pursue M.Sc. and research programs at top-tier institutes across the country.
As part of IISc’s nationwide outreach initiative, a team of ambassadors visited the campus to conduct an interactive one-hour session with undergraduate and postgraduate students. The program included a 30-minute presentation highlighting the structure, benefits, and preparation strategies for the GATE and JAM exams, followed by an open Q&A session where students had the opportunity to interact directly with the IISc representatives.
The event aimed to inspire and guide students toward advanced studies and research opportunities in science and engineering. It also helped them understand the wide range of academic and career possibilities available through these competitive examinations.
The IISc team members—Mr. Praveen P and Mr. Ashfaq Ashraf Chathoth from the Department of Management Studies—interacted with the students, offering valuable insights into IISc’s programs and admission processes.
The session concluded with an engaging discussion on career prospects, research opportunities, and preparation tips, leaving students highly motivated to pursue excellence through GATE and JAM. The institution expressed its gratitude to IISc Bengaluru for selecting KMCT IETM as part of this nationwide outreach initiative.
