Events And Activities

On 27 February 2025, the Computer Science & Engineering Department of KMCT IETM set a
new benchmark in technological and creative excellence with GENISYS 1.0. The day began with a
warm Welcome Address by Ms. Kavitha G Nair, followed by an inspiring Presidential Address by
Dr. Thafseela Koya. The “About the Association” session, presented by Mr. Abraham Jolly,
highlighted the vision and passion driving the department forward.
The highlight of the day was the inaugural ceremony, which was officially inaugurated by
Prof. Dr. Abdul Gafur M, Principal of KMCT IETM. With the unveiling of the association’s
name and logo - Daemon (a term from computing for a background process that runs continuously,
handling system tasks without user intervention), the principal set the stage for a transformative era.
This milestone was further accentuated by the signing of a Memorandum of Understanding with
Cybersquare (Baabtra), under the leadership of Mr. Monish Mohan VT, paving the way for
promising future collaborations.
GENISYS 1.0 also featured an extensive lineup of events that captivated participants across various
fields. The technical segment included ten events: Code Debugging, Blind Typing, Speed Typing,
Paper Presentation, Web Designing, Quiz Competition, Keyfixing, Re-Codify, Poster Design, and
an innovative Treasure Hunt. Additionally, the non-technical segment showcased four exciting
contests: E-Football, Ludo, PUBG, and Valorant.
The event concluded with enriching sessions featuring an Expert Profile presentation by
Mr. Rishan, an insightful Expert Talk by Mr. Shiva Prasad N, and a heartfelt Vote of Thanks by
Mr. Aman Sanin.
